Fourteenth Convocation of the Institute was held on January 19, 2008. Professor Partha Chatterjee, Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta and
Columbai University, U.S.A., was the chief guest of the function and he also delivered the Kale Memorial Lecture, 2007 on “Democracy and Economic Transformation in India.”
Twenty eight successful students from the batch 2005-2007 were awarded their M.A. (Economics) degree from the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics.
Miss Vibha Iyer, who secured first rank with an 'A+' grade in the M. A. Examination, held in May 2007, was awarded the Pandurangi Prize.

Miss Parul Shrivastava was awarded the Late Professor M. V. Namjoshi Prize for securing highest marks in the course B04: Industry: Organization, Structure and Problems.
Miss Vibha Iyer and Miss Neha Sinha was jointly awarded R. M. Agnihotri Prize for securing the highest marks in the course A09: Economics of Development.
